The Young and the Restless

Here’s Who Was Missing in Action from Heather’s Funeral On Young and the Restless

Heather was laid to rest on the November 6 episode of The Young and the Restless. Daniel and Lucy were there, naturally. Also Phyllis and Christine and Summer, Michael and Lauren, even Nick and Sharon…for some reason. But the people who weren’t there loomed larger than the ones who were.

Who’s Who

Daniel was Heather’s (Vail Bloom) partner. Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) was Heather’s daughter. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is Daniel’s mother, and Summer (Allison Lanier) is his sister.

Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc) are Phyllis’ best friends and two of the few people who can stand to be in the same room with her for an extended time. Faith (Reylynn Caster) is a friend of Lucy’s…kind of. As for Sharon (Sharon Case), she’s…the woman Phyllis is convinced murdered Heather. And Nick (Joshua Morrow) is Phyllis’ ex-husband. (So he is one of Daniel’s many ex-stepfathers…But so is Jack [Peter Bergman], and he’s noticeably absent.) And Sharon’s ex-husband. So, naturally, they’d be invited. It’s only polite.

Designated Representative

Christine (Lauralee Bell) was there as Daniel’s lawyer and also as Danny’s (Michael Damian) ex-wife and current girlfriend. Christine is also the ex-wife of Heather’s father, Paul (Doug Davidson). Christine explained that Paul was back in Portugal, recovering from a heart attack. Sure, we believe that.

What we don’t believe is that he couldn’t call in. You know, the way Danny did a few days ago? Video-chat? All the cool kids are doing it these days! Danny could call in to tell his son he supports him, but he couldn’t call in for the actual funeral itself? That’s not…very supportive. But he’s only Danny’s dad. Paul is Heather’s. Sure, he was gone for most of Heather’s childhood. Heather lived with her mother, April.

Oh, yeah, where’s April? When last we checked in, she was in Lebanon. We realize that Phyllis is a complete disaster. She proved it yet again at the reception post-Heather’s burial. But even Phyllis isn’t more dangerous than Lebanon!

Heather’s funeral was notable for who was there. And for who wasn’t.
