Days of Our Lives Early Spoilers: Gwen and Leo Face Dimitri’s Wrath as Rafe Launches a Dangerous Rescue

The week of August 10–14 promises fear, heartbreak and dangerous confrontations on Days of Our Lives. Gwen Rizczech and Leo Stark find themselves trapped with an increasingly unstable Dimitri von Leuschner, while Rafe Hernandez prepares to risk everything to bring them home.

Elsewhere in Salem, Abe and Theo Carver suffer the devastating loss of Lexie for a second time, Joy Wesley receives frightening medical news, and EJ DiMera’s latest schemes threaten to create even more chaos for the Kiriakis family.

Before those stories unfold, the remaining episodes of the current week will place several major characters on a collision course.

Lexie Says Goodbye Again

EJ DiMera and Rita were stunned to discover that Lexie had switched places with Kristen inside the cargo container. Although EJ promises to bring his sister home to the DiMera mansion, Lexie’s condition quickly deteriorates.

She is taken to Salem University Hospital, where Abe and Theo remain beside her as she prepares to die again.

The reunion gives Lexie’s family precious additional time with her, but it also forces them to experience the pain of losing her for a second time. Abe is expected to direct much of his anger toward EJ, whom he blames for the circumstances surrounding Lexie’s return and decline.

EJ also has another serious problem. Kristen is now free and may still pose a threat to Johnny, Rachel and Sydney.

Johnny receives disturbing information from his father, possibly including the truth that Kristen sent Sophia to kill him. EJ may warn his son to remain alert while he searches for a way to remove Kristen from Salem permanently.

Meanwhile, Rachel receives a secret visit from Kristen, who approaches her while disguised as Susan Banks. Rachel does not realize that the strange woman claiming to have a message is actually her mother.

The disguise may not remain convincing for long, especially after Rachel tells Brady about the encounter.

Joy Receives Devastating Medical News

Joy’s health crisis begins when she experiences severe pain while attempting to remove Kelsey’s baby carrier from a stroller at the Brady Pub.

The pain is so intense that Javi and Rafe rush to help her. While Rafe comforts the frightened baby, Javi focuses on Joy and gets her to the hospital.

Alex later joins Joy as doctors deliver devastating news.

Her arm pain may only be the first warning sign of a much more serious medical condition. Although the exact diagnosis remains unclear, the situation appears to be far more dangerous than a simple injury.

Alex is determined to support Joy through the crisis, but Stephanie’s reaction could create another major problem in their marriage.

Stephanie has already been fighting with Joy over Kelsey and may initially suspect that Joy is exaggerating or using her illness to gain sympathy. If Stephanie dismisses Joy’s symptoms or accuses her of manipulation, Alex may finally lose patience with his wife.

Earlier, Alex learns that Joy was considering allowing Stephanie to remain involved in Kelsey’s life until Stephanie ruined the progress with angry accusations. He confronts Stephanie over her behavior, leaving their relationship under increasing pressure.

Theo also confides in Stephanie as he struggles with the unbearable grief of losing Lexie again.

EJ Strikes Back at Titan

Philip and Xander Kiriakis believe they have reason to celebrate after Gabi Hernandez uses part of Stefano DiMera’s estate to help Titan make a crucial loan payment.

However, their relief may not last.

EJ is furious when he discovers that DiMera money has been invested in the company his father despised. Because Gabi’s contribution does not cover Titan’s entire debt, EJ may use the remaining balance to impose harsher terms on Philip and Xander.

Their company’s future remains in serious danger.

Holly Jonas also receives a painful truth about EJ. Sarah may reveal that the pills found in Holly’s bag were planted and that EJ was responsible.

Although Xander has already reached that conclusion, Holly may struggle to accept that her former stepfather deliberately framed her.

Gwen and Leo Are Trapped With Dimitri

The most dangerous storyline of the week involves Gwen, Leo and Dimitri.

Gwen and Leo attempt to escape after realizing that Dimitri has no intention of letting either of them leave. Dimitri originally used Gwen as bait to draw Leo into his trap, but his obsession has now made the situation unpredictable.

Leo becomes increasingly frightened by Dimitri’s behavior, while Gwen fears for both of their lives.

Javi is also deeply worried about Leo. Although Gus opposes any attempt to help him, Javi refuses to back down and asks Rafe to intervene.

Rafe soon travels to Alammania, but his authority is extremely limited. He has no jurisdiction there, and the ISA cannot simply extradite Dimitri.

Dimitri refuses to negotiate with Rafe, forcing Leo to make a desperate proposal.

“If you don’t want to make a deal with Rafe, then make a deal with me,” Leo tells him.

Leo may offer to reconcile with Dimitri in exchange for Gwen’s freedom. The sacrifice could become even more tragic because Leo believes Javi has chosen Gus and no longer wants him.

In reality, Javi is beginning to realize that he is still in love with Leo.

By the time Javi admits the truth, Leo may already have made a dangerous promise to Dimitri.

Rafe Needs Gwen Back in Salem

Rafe’s mission is not only personal.

Gwen previously wrote a confession letter connected to the cover-up involving EJ and Rita. Rafe and Cat want to bring Gwen back to Salem so she can testify against EJ in exchange for immunity.

EJ therefore needs Rita’s help to contain the growing scandal. Although they believed they had eliminated most of the evidence, Gwen’s testimony could destroy everything.

Leo is expected to return to Salem before long, but it remains uncertain whether Dimitri will return with him—or what Leo will be forced to sacrifice for their release.

With Gwen and Leo trapped, Joy facing a frightening diagnosis, Titan remaining under EJ’s control and Abe mourning Lexie once again, Salem is heading toward a week filled with dangerous bargains and devastating consequences.
