General Hospital Early Weekly Spoilers: Drew Covers His Tracks, Ava’s Trap Explodes and Alexis Makes a Dangerous Threat
General Hospital is heading into another dangerous week in Port Charles, and the early spoilers for August 31 through September 4 suggest that several characters are about to learn just how costly their secrets have become.
Drew Cain is scrambling to destroy evidence that could expose him, Ava Jerome agrees to take part in a risky scheme involving Jack Brennan, Alexis Davis appears ready to threaten Willow, and Sonny Corinthos is once again being haunted by regrets from his past.
At the same time, Curtis faces a terrifying new problem behind bars, Josslyn pushes back against Carly, and Anna may be moving deeper into a dangerous game involving Britt.
Here is what viewers can expect.
Drew races to destroy the evidence against him
Drew’s situation is becoming increasingly desperate.
He knows Brennan has damaging information that could be used against him, and instead of backing down, Drew appears ready to commit even more questionable acts to make the evidence disappear.
His plan reportedly involves getting access to Brennan’s hotel room.
But Drew cannot simply walk inside while Jack is alert and watching him.
That is where Ava comes in.
Drew asks Ava to keep Brennan occupied while he searches the room, and the plan may involve slipping something into Jack’s drink.
For Ava, this creates a dangerous new problem.
She originally entered into an arrangement with Drew because she wanted help going after Sonny. Now Drew is asking her to take increasingly serious risks for his own personal agenda.
If Brennan realizes he has been drugged, Ava could find herself trapped between two very dangerous men.
And if Nina discovers Ava is helping Drew—someone Nina absolutely despises—their friendship could suffer serious damage.
Ava’s trap may blow up in her face
By Friday, Ava is expected to have her trap ready.
The obvious question is whether it will actually work.
Brennan is not an easy man to deceive. His intelligence background means he is trained to notice when something is wrong, and he could recognize the signs that someone has tampered with his drink.
If that happens, Ava may have to talk her way out of a potentially explosive confrontation.
She is certainly capable of lying under pressure, but Jack may not be willing to accept her explanation.
Meanwhile, Drew will be working against the clock as he tries to locate whatever Brennan has on him.
One interruption could ruin everything.
And if Drew is caught inside Jack’s room, the consequences could extend far beyond simple blackmail.
Alexis receives a shocking warning about Willow
Alexis also finds herself pulled directly into the Drew and Willow mess.
Kai is expected to visit her with a disturbing theory.
He believes Willow may have tried to kill Drew again.
Kai’s suspicions appear to come from Drew’s behavior and the possibility that Drew has secretly regained more physical control than he is admitting. Kai may explain that Drew was able to communicate in subtle ways and seemed determined to hide that fact from Willow.
However, Kai may go even further and accuse Willow of pushing Drew into the lake.
That particular accusation appears questionable because Willow was reportedly not present when the incident happened.
Even so, Kai’s warning could be enough to send Alexis straight toward Willow.
Alexis threatens Willow
The confrontation between Alexis and Willow could become one of the week’s biggest scenes.
Alexis appears ready to tell Willow that she knows—or believes she knows—that Willow shot Drew.
She may even threaten to stop protecting her.
Although Willow may not face another straightforward criminal prosecution over the same allegations, the information could still be devastating in other ways.
It could affect custody proceedings.
It could damage Willow’s credibility.
And if she gave misleading testimony under oath, Alexis may have another legal angle she can use against her.
There is also the possibility that Alexis could use the secret as leverage.
One potential scenario is that Alexis demands Willow convince Drew to back away from his restraining orders or other legal attacks in exchange for Alexis remaining silent.
If so, Alexis could quickly find herself entering morally dangerous territory.
Willow’s Brennan recording creates another problem
Willow is already holding onto another potentially explosive weapon.
She reportedly recorded a conversation with Brennan in which he admitted to manipulating evidence or using WSB resources to help her.
Nina is expected to be furious when she learns about it.
She may urge Willow to delete the recording immediately.
Willow, however, appears unwilling to give up the leverage until she gets what she wants.
Her ultimate target may be Michael.
That puts Willow in an increasingly risky position.
Every attempt to protect herself seems to create a new secret, a new enemy or a new potential criminal problem.
Sonny’s guilt resurfaces
Sonny will also share an emotional conversation with Michael.
At one point, Sonny tells his son that he will regret something for the rest of his life.
There are several painful moments in their history that could fit that statement.
He could be talking about Michael being badly injured in the penthouse explosion.
He could also be referring to past violence and the consequences of decisions Sonny made when Michael was younger.
Whatever the subject, Sonny’s guilt seems likely to become important again.
He also makes Laura a promise later in the week, potentially connected to her family situation and her plans involving Kevin and Ace.
Josslyn tells Carly to stay out of her life
Josslyn is another character pushing back against family interference.
She reportedly tells Carly to accept her decision and stop interfering.
The confrontation may involve Josslyn’s plans concerning J.J., although Carly likely does not know the full story.
If Josslyn is acting under WSB orders, she may be forced to hide the real reason behind her choices.
That could make Carly even more suspicious.
Josslyn may believe she is protecting her mother by keeping secrets, but in Port Charles, those kinds of secrets rarely stay buried for long.
Curtis faces Sidwell in prison
Curtis is about to face a much more immediate threat.
While sitting in his prison cell, he is stunned to discover Sidwell nearby.
That could be very bad news.
Sidwell may see Curtis as the perfect target for revenge, especially after Jordan’s recent choices.
He could make Curtis’ time behind bars miserable, physically threaten him or even attempt to sabotage his chances of parole.
Curtis may have expected prison to be difficult.
He probably did not expect one of his most dangerous enemies to be waiting for him there.
Anna may be targeting Britt
Anna’s storyline also continues to become more unsettling.
She may soon turn her attention toward Britt while operating under Peter’s influence or pursuing a hidden agenda.
If Anna is truly targeting Britt, anyone protecting Britt could also become vulnerable.
That potentially puts Jason and Liesl in danger.
The situation becomes even more complicated because Anna is still publicly presenting herself as supportive to people around her.
The longer she keeps up that appearance, the harder it may be for anyone to recognize what she is really doing.
Rick struggles with jealousy again
Rick continues wrestling with his feelings about Elizabeth and Dante.
Lulu recently managed to calm him down, but those jealous feelings are unlikely to disappear overnight.
Another trigger could push Rick into saying something he cannot take back.
If he lashes out at Elizabeth, his attempts to control the situation could instead push her further away.
More trouble ahead in Port Charles
The week of August 31 looks packed with dangerous schemes and emotional fallout.
Drew is risking everything to destroy evidence.
Ava is putting herself in Brennan’s path.
Alexis is preparing to confront Willow.
Curtis may be trapped with Sidwell.
And Sonny is once again confronting the consequences of his past.
Meanwhile, new romantic sparks may begin forming between Lucas and Detective Joe, while other storylines—including Trina’s mysterious stalker and the battle over Sidwell’s assets—continue moving toward major confrontations.
In Port Charles, almost everyone seems to be holding a secret.
The real question is which one will explode first.
