General Hospital Shocker: Anna Lures Britt Into a Deadly Trap — Will Jason Save Her in Time?

General Hospital may be heading toward one of its most disturbing confrontations yet as Anna Devane’s obsession with Faison’s legacy appears to push her dangerously close to the edge.

Britt Westbourne believes Anna has finally uncovered information about her brother, but what Britt does not realize is that Anna may be setting a trap.

And once Britt disappears, Jason Morgan could be the one person who immediately realizes something is terribly wrong.

Anna’s Fear of Faison Is Getting Worse

This week, Britt was enjoying drinks with Lucas Jones at the Metro Court bar, talking about relationships and seemingly enjoying a rare peaceful moment.

Across town, however, Anna was at the shooting range with Valentin Cassadine.

Anna admitted that even though Cesar Faison is dead, she still feels haunted by him and everything he represented.

She fears there are people determined to continue his legacy, and in Anna’s increasingly unstable state of mind, Britt has become part of that threat.

Valentin tried to reason with her.

He pointed out that Britt was not the person who had been tormenting Anna and reminded her that others had also been deceived.

But Anna could not let it go.

She remains furious that she failed to recognize the truth earlier, and her guilt has become tangled with fear, paranoia and the disturbing influence of Peter August in her head.

The most frightening part?

Valentin knows something is wrong with Anna, but he does not know just how serious the situation has become.

Anna Makes a Chilling Call to Britt

After Valentin left, Anna made a calculated move.

She contacted Britt and claimed she had information from her WSB sources about her brother’s supposed death and what had happened to his body.

For Britt, that was exactly the kind of information she and Liesl Obrecht have been desperately seeking.

Britt immediately became interested.

She wants answers not only for herself, but for her mother, who has struggled with the uncertainty surrounding her son.

But Anna was lying.

She had no new WSB information to offer.

Instead, she appeared to be using Britt’s need for answers as bait.

As Anna spoke to Britt on the phone, she was still at the shooting range, running her fingers over the bullet holes in her target.

It was an ominous image.

And it may have revealed exactly what Anna was thinking.

That Remote Property Suddenly Looks Very Important

Anna recently approached Sonny Corinthos about buying a secluded piece of mountain property.

She claimed that she wanted somewhere quiet where she could build a retreat and escape from the pressure surrounding her.

Sonny even suggested therapy.

Anna rejected the idea.

At the time, the land purchase may have seemed unusual.

Now it looks far more sinister.

A remote property with no neighbors and few visitors would be the perfect location for Anna to isolate someone without being discovered.

And Britt may be walking directly into that trap.

Anna apparently arranges to meet Britt there under the promise of giving her information.

Britt naturally questions why they needed to meet somewhere so isolated.

That is when things could become terrifying.

Anna pulls a gun.

And the reason for choosing the location becomes horrifyingly clear.

They are somewhere no one can hear Britt scream.

Britt Could Quickly Realize Anna Is Not Herself

Britt may initially believe Anna simply wants to intimidate her.

But the situation could become even more frightening if Anna begins talking to Peter in front of her.

To everyone else, Peter is gone.

To Anna, however, his voice has become increasingly real.

If Britt sees Anna arguing with or responding to someone who is not actually there, she may quickly realize that she is not dealing with the controlled, experienced spy she once knew.

She is dealing with someone in the middle of a serious psychological crisis.

And that makes Anna unpredictable.

Even Britt, who has survived plenty of dangerous situations, may not know how to talk her way out of this one.

Britt’s Disappearance Will Not Stay Secret for Long

Once Britt stops showing up at General Hospital, people will notice.

Elizabeth Webber could begin calling when Britt misses work.

Lucas may reach out after spending time with her recently.

Liesl will certainly expect to hear from her daughter.

Anna could attempt to delay suspicion by using Britt’s phone.

She might send text messages claiming Britt is sick, has taken time off or simply left town again.

And because Britt does have a history of disappearing from Port Charles, some people might believe it.

Jason Morgan probably will not.

Jason Knows Britt Too Well

Jason knows Britt would not suddenly vanish without saying anything to him.

She has no obvious reason to run.

And if she supposedly sends him a vague message announcing that she has left, Jason is likely to recognize immediately that something feels wrong.

He knows her habits.

He knows the way she talks.

And most importantly, he knows their relationship is at a point where Britt would not simply disappear without an explanation.

Jason could begin asking questions.

He might contact Liesl first.

If she has not heard from Britt either, his concern will grow.

From there, Jason could speak to Elizabeth, Lucas and others at General Hospital.

Soon, a pattern would emerge.

Nobody has actually spoken to Britt.

They have only received messages.

That would be a huge red flag.

Could Anna Try to Shut Down the Investigation?

Jason could eventually approach Anna and ask the PCPD to treat Britt as a missing person.

Anna, of course, would have every reason to discourage that.

She could argue Britt is an adult.

She could point to the text messages.

She might even remind Jason that Britt has disappeared before.

But those excuses could have the opposite effect.

The harder Anna works to convince Jason that there is nothing to investigate, the more suspicious he may become.

Jason is extremely good at noticing when people are hiding something.

And if Anna is already acting strangely, he could quickly start connecting Britt’s disappearance to her recent behavior.

Sonny May Accidentally Give Jason the Biggest Clue

This is where Sonny could become extremely important.

Jason may go to him looking for another perspective on Anna.

Sonny could mention that Anna had seemed emotionally unstable during their recent conversation.

He might also casually mention selling her the secluded mountain property.

Sonny would not necessarily think the land had anything to do with Britt.

But Jason might.

A remote property.

Anna behaving strangely.

Britt suddenly disappearing.

Jason would not need much more than that.

If Anna cannot be found at the PCPD or at home, and nobody knows where she went, Jason may decide to check that mountain property himself.

And that could lead him straight to Britt.

Jason Could Save Both Britt and Anna

Jason arriving at the secluded property would set the stage for a major confrontation.

His first priority would obviously be Britt.

But Jason may quickly realize that Anna needs rescuing too.

Not physically.

From herself.

If Anna is genuinely experiencing hallucinations involving Peter and believes she must eliminate Britt in order to feel safe, Jason may understand that this is not simply a criminal act.

It is a mental health crisis.

That could create a complicated aftermath.

Britt would understandably be furious.

She could want Anna arrested.

She could demand charges.

And Jason might find himself caught between defending the woman he loves and protecting someone he believes desperately needs help.

Will Britt Show Anna Mercy?

That could become the emotional heart of the storyline.

Jason may ask Britt to remember how many second chances she herself has received over the years.

Britt has made serious mistakes.

She has hurt people.

She has also been forgiven, changed and rebuilt her life.

Jason could argue that Anna deserves the opportunity to receive treatment before everyone decides how to handle what happened.

Britt may not want to hear it immediately.

She may have just survived being kidnapped and threatened by a woman holding a gun.

But eventually, she could understand Jason’s point.

Especially once everyone realizes Anna truly believed Peter was speaking to her.

Is Jason About to Become Britt’s Hero Again?

Everything seems to be setting Jason up for a rescue.

Anna believes she has chosen the perfect isolated location.

She may believe she can control Britt’s disappearance through carefully written text messages.

But she may be underestimating the one person who knows Britt better than almost anyone else.

Jason will notice.

He will investigate.

And if he follows the clues to Anna’s remote property, Britt could soon see Jason walking through the door just when she needs him most.

The bigger question is what happens afterward.

Because saving Britt may be the easy part.

Saving Anna from herself could be far more difficult.
