Reasons General Hospital Is On Verge Of Cancellation
General Hospital has had viewers invested since 1963. It has had so many ups and downs with captivating storylines, even landing the iconic Elizabeth Taylor as Helena Cassadine. Although it has since been recast, it was a moment that lives in infamy. Luke and Laura had one of the most watched and celebrated weddings while fans have shipped more couples than they can count. Brenda and Sonny were adored and beloved but he had to let her go because of his dangerous lifestyle as a mobster.
This led fans to think General Hospital was killing off another beloved character but he was spared and was just sent away to get better treatment. With all of this, the show may be on the verge of cancellation. According to yahoo!, the ratings have dropped and fans have threatened to boycott if the show keeps going downhill. Now, whether or not they mean it is unknown as so many faithful will stick around regardless. However, the fact that two beloved and longtime stars are gone and they are replacing people left and right does not bode well.

General Hospital fans do not hold back and they were very open about how they have felt over the last several months. From wanting Frank Valentini fired over Kelly Monaco to recasting, they are letting the soap know where they stand:
- Do any of you people see these comments?!? NO ONE can stand Drew or Willow. For god sakes, get rid of them. And someone get Drew Garrett back as Michael.
- Bring back Kelly Monaco!!!!!
- I haven’t watched a single episode since I heard there were letting Kelly Monaco go.. and I’ve been watching for over 20 years!!!
- Really what’s with the new Jack?
It appears that the fans have spoken and they are not happy. Some admitted they had not watched for a while and just popped in and out. It is truly sad what this soap has become but maybe, the writers and producers will see what viewers are saying and do some damage control.
