Y&R Prepping to Fire These 4 Stars | Guess Who’s Leaving?
There are a lot of interesting storylines going on in The Young and the Restless, but not all characters are involved in them for the big time. Honestly, it feels like Y&R is slowly sidelining some characters to write them off. So, let’s take a look at some of the actors who could be leaving the show very soon.
First, we have Michael Graziadei, the actor who plays Daniel Romalotti on Y&R. With Heather’s story finally closed and everyone basically moving on, there’s not much left for Daniel’s storyline. In case you haven’t noticed, all Daniel really does right now is have coffee, chat with his sister Summer, and basically worry about Phyllis. Besides that, he doesn’t really have a story focused on him—he just pops up to give advice.
Plus, if you look at his romantic angles, there are none. Lily’s not coming back, and none of the other ladies are single. So, there’s a high chance Graziadei’s character will be leaving Genoa City to start fresh with his daughter and move on from losing the love of his life.
Speaking of Daniel, his daughter Lucy—played by the talented Lily Brooks O’Brien—also hasn’t been seen much lately. After obsessing over and then losing her mom, it seems like that’s all for Lucy’s storyline right now.
For a moment, we all thought we’d be getting her villain arc, but that died down after the whole Heather’s murder fiasco. She probably went back to school, and maybe she’ll come back on screen again after she finds out her grandma Phyllis is kidnapped. But that’ll probably be her and Daniel’s call to leave town—maybe heading to Portugal to live with Paul for a while or traveling around with Danny. After all, this father-daughter duo really needs some peace right now.
Another actor who could be leaving Y&R is Connor Floyd, aka Detective Chance Chancellor. First of all, Floyd is already off contract as a regular with Y&R and is kept on recurring status. Then there’s the whole Chance and Summer romance that is slowly dying down. I mean, it’s just a matter of time until Summer realizes she isn’t really in love with him and still has some feelings left for Kyle.
As for his job as a detective, he’s used more as a personal detective working under Nick or Summer. So, maybe after the whole Phyllis and Sharon kidnapping ends, he could be done with all the drama. I mean, he’s slowly having less and less screen time, so Y&R could just decide to send him away from GC for some training or another post. Since there’s nothing really holding him back, he could just take up the offer and leave.
Lastly, we have Cait Fairbanks, aka Tessa Porter. Where do we start?
Tessa has always felt like an extra. It’s been years since the show gave Fairbanks a storyline of her own. I mean, all we see from Tessa is her being a mom to Aria—which is shown for like a split second—or a second character to Mariah’s storyline. Y&R could have done so much with Tessa and Ian’s relationship, but they didn’t explore that at all.
Now, all we get is the support-system Tessa rather than the fiery, singing Tessa we once had. So from the looks of it, Tessa is definitely going to be written off somehow. Maybe Tessa and Mariah will move away from GC for their child, or they might just send Tessa away for a tour or something. Whatever it might be, Tessa’s time on Y&R is running out.
