The Bold and The Beautiful

Bold and the Beautiful Comings & Goings Shocker: Thomas & RJ Gone for Good – Here’s Why!

Thomas and R.J. Exit ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ — Plus More Casting News and Rumor Control

A major shake-up is underway on The Bold and the Beautiful as two key characters appear to be gone for good. Fans have been buzzing with speculation about the status of Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and R.J. Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) — and now there’s evidence confirming their exit.

Thomas and R.J. Written Out?

Rumors about the fate of Ridge Forrester’s sons have been circulating for months, but now it seems official.

The first red flag came in December 2024, when the show’s opening credits were updated — and both Thomas and R.J. were removed.

Now, there’s an even stronger indicator: their names were removed from the closing credits.

The last time Matthew Atkinson and Joshua Hoffman appeared in the actor credits was March 28th. Since then, episodes have aired with no actor credits for several weeks, but as of April 18th, the pair is completely absent.

With both the intro and closing credits scrubbed, it’s a strong sign that showrunner Brad Bell has written them out — even though there has been no official statement from CBS Daytime.

Guest Stars and Crossover Characters

While some familiar faces are leaving, others are dropping in for short arcs.

The show is bringing in four guest stars this week to coincide with the upcoming Forrester Creations fashion show:

  • Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, best known from MTV’s The Hills, will appear. Pratt plays a character dubbed the “burrito king.”

  • Lauralee Bell (Christine Williams from The Young and the Restless) returns for another crossover, appearing as a VIP guest at the show.

  • Markell Washington, social media influencer, also makes a cameo, checking out the couture.

  • Sophia Paras McKinlay continues as Kelly Spencer, as her storyline heats up amid Liam’s health crisis.

Where Is Beth Spencer?

With Liam Spencer’s life hanging in the balance, fans are questioning why only one of his children — Kelly — is present. Many viewers have pointed out that Hope Logan hasn’t mentioned Liam’s absence from Beth’s life, raising eyebrows about the storyline’s inconsistency.

More Familiar Faces — But Not for Long

Two other characters are back — but only temporarily:

  • Ashley Jones returns as Dr. Bridget Forrester, but she is not on contract.

  • Cassandra Creech will also appear again as Dr. Grace Buckingham.

Additionally, Jack Wagner is confirmed to reprise his role as Nick Marone in June, but this is also a short-term appearance. Wagner is under contract with Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart, now renewed for Season 13, which limits his time on B&B.

Rumor Control: No New Contracts for Liam or Bill

There’s been widespread confusion online regarding Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer) and Don Diamont (Bill Spencer). Many fans believe both actors recently signed new contracts — but this is based on an outdated article from several years ago on Soaps.com.

Due to technical glitches on that website, some old stories appear undated, leading readers to think they’re new. However, the contract news being cited is from 2022, not 2025.

Currently, Scott Clifton’s contract status is unknown. While his character’s medical crisis suggests danger, it’s unlikely Liam will die. The storyline mirrors the recent Eric Forrester medical scare, which ended in a last-minute miracle.

What’s Next?

With Thomas and R.J. seemingly off the canvas, it marks a major shift in the show’s family dynamics. While R.J.’s absence may go unnoticed by some, Thomas’s exit leaves a noticeable void.

Unless CBS or Brad Bell issues an official statement, this update may be as close to confirmation as fans will get.
