By Belinda from Soap Dirt

The Young and the Restless is heating up as we head into the week of May 26–30, with emotional twists, romantic gestures, and dangerous alliances unraveling across Genoa City.

Victor’s Birthday Surprise for Nikki Turns Serious

On Wednesday, May 21, a special episode highlights several of Genoa City’s iconic couples. Victor Newman goes all out for Nikki, starting her birthday celebration early with a heartfelt gift—a locket featuring photos of them with Victoria and Claire. He promises a gift a day until her birthday.

However, the celebration takes a turn when Victor expresses his disapproval of Claire and Kyle’s relationship. Surprisingly, Nikki agrees they should slow down. Despite his romantic gestures, Victor clearly draws a line when it comes to Kyle living under the same roof as Claire.

Jack’s Tuxedoed Tribute to Diane

Jack Abbott sweeps Diane off her feet in a tuxedo and with champagne in hand, showering her with appreciation for her renovation work on the Abbott mansion. He calls her “the best of all the Abbotts”—a bold statement that could ruffle feathers within the family.

Still, Diane harbors concerns. With Traci and Ashley returning next week, she fears their reaction could mirror Billy’s, who accused her of erasing the presence of their father, John Abbott, from the house. Jack, however, remains focused on their future, eager to plan the honeymoon they never took.

Michael Makes a Big Move—But Will Victor Let Him Go?

Over at the GCAC Jazz Lounge, Michael Baldwin surprises Lauren with a romantic evening and a shocking confession: he’s ready to walk away from Victor. After renting out the entire venue for a private night of drinks and dancing, Michael admits he now sees Victor was using him and apologizes for the strain it’s caused their marriage.

While Lauren is touched, she’s also worried. Michael may intend to quit as Victor’s lawyer—and his right-hand man—but walking away from the Mustache is never simple. By Friday, Victor issues a veiled threat, warning Michael of the consequences if he follows through.

Amanda’s Return Raises Eyebrows

On Thursday, May 22, Amanda Sinclair’s reappearance doesn’t sit well with Abby, who suspects Amanda might be out for revenge over her past with Devon. But Amanda insists her boss, Duma—who many speculate may be a recast Cane Ashby—isn’t targeting the Winters family. Instead, he’s seeking to protect them, particularly Lily, raising more questions than answers.

Meanwhile, Audra Charles faces pressure to justify her recent actions. Her schemes involving Kyle, Nate, and Victor aren’t yielding results. If Victor doesn’t see progress soon, she could be in serious trouble.

Also on Thursday, Damen appears to accept Lily’s job offer to oversee Winters Hotels, adding another player to the already complex corporate chessboard.

Trouble for Lauren and Kyle by Week’s End

On Friday, May 23, Lauren’s anxiety over her marriage escalates. Despite Michael’s promise to leave Victor behind, she fears either he won’t follow through—or that Victor will retaliate. Victor is known for holding grudges, and she knows the stakes.

Simultaneously, Diane grows increasingly concerned about Kyle, who seems blinded by revenge and dangerously close to ruining things with Claire. She warns him to tread carefully, but Kyle’s history suggests he won’t listen.

Week of May 26–30: Sharon Gets Jealous, Victor Explodes

Looking ahead to the following week, Sharon’s jealousy over Nick’s growing bond with Phyllis could cause friction. Though Sharon and Phyllis were recently on civil terms, Sharon bristles at Nick’s decision to support Phyllis during her downward spiral—despite his assurances that there’s nothing romantic happening.

As for Victor, he doesn’t handle rejection well. He explodes over Michael’s decision to quit and may refuse to let him go. However, if it comes down to choosing between Victor and Lauren, Michael seems poised to stand by his wife.

Claire’s Hope May Be in Vain

Claire remains optimistic that throwing a party for Nikki will win Victor over to her relationship with Kyle. But longtime viewers know better—Victor will never approve of an Abbott for his granddaughter, no matter how many balloons or champagne toasts she plans.

Adding to the drama, Audra’s time is running out. She claims to have things under control, but has delivered nothing but empty promises. Her situation grows more precarious with Halden’s interference expected to escalate.

More Returns and a Mysterious Newcomer

As Traci and Ashley return to Genoa City, Diane braces for backlash similar to Billy’s. Meanwhile, Cole’s recovery may hit a snag.

Fans are also eager to learn who Billy Flynn is playing, with speculation still swirling that he could be a recast of Cane Ashby. Amanda and Duma’s assistant, Carter, continue to make moves in the background—suggesting the mysterious Duma might already be in town.

Finally, Jay Rodriguez from Queer Eye begins a four-episode arc on May 28 as party planner Pietro, helping Claire organize Nikki’s birthday bash. Expect appearances from Danny and Christine in early June, likely to coincide with the festivities.
