It’s such a sad moment to see Connor Floyd leave The Young and the Restless. But while we’re still processing that news, we can’t help but wonder—what’s going to happen to Chance? Will the show kill him off? Let’s find out right away.
It honestly feels like The Young and the Restless is going through a mass exit. One by one, fan favorites are checking out.
First, we said goodbye to Daniel Goddard, then Allison Lanier packed her bags. Not long after, Rory Gibson jumped ship to General Hospital.
That’s three major names in just two months. And now—Connor Floyd is out too.
Floyd had been playing the role of Chance since 2021, and the fans loved him. But Y&R and Days of Our Lives decided to swap their actors.
Floyd is heading to Salem to take over as Chad DiMera, while Billy Flynn—the OG Chad—is now stirring things up in Genoa City as Cane Ashby.
And since Floyd has already started filming at Days, it’s safe to say Chance’s time in Genoa City is almost up.
So now the big question is:
How in the world do you write out a legacy character… again?
Well, we’ve got some theories:
1. Maybe… in a coffin?
Cane’s convinced someone wants him six feet under—which is why he called Chance to the party in Nice.
So what if an assassin takes a shot at Cane, and Chance jumps in front of the bullet?
Our resident hero could wind up shipped home in a box while Cane walks away with nothing but guilt.
2. Boardroom burnout
Remember when Chance tried working at Chancellor Industries and hated every second of it?
Well, with another corporate war heating up, he might just walk away for good.
No more boardroom drama. No more fake smiles. Just a suitcase and a “See you.”
3. Off to L.A. with Mom
Why chase bad guys when you can chill in sunny L.A. with your mom, Nina?
She’d spoil him rotten, book mani-pedis, and serve homemade meals.
Chance could call it “recharging,” but we all know he’d just be living the good life.
4. Army man again
Nina would definitely freak out, but Chance could reenlist and head back to the military.
Honestly, dealing with Army life might be easier than dealing with Genoa City drama.
At least no one there expects him to arrest his girlfriend’s mom.
5. Playing nurse for Grandma Jill
If Jill’s health takes a turn, Chance could become her full-time caretaker.
Imagine him trading in his gun and badge for fluffing pillows and fetching tea.
Daytime’s most handsome nurse, reporting for duty.
6. Love trip to Italy
Things with Summer didn’t end so well—but what if Chance still has feelings for her?
He could fly straight from France to Italy, determined to win her back.
And let’s be honest—Italy sounds way more romantic than Genoa City.
7. Brotherly bailout
Chance’s half-brother Ronan Malloy is basically a magnet for trouble.
One SOS from Ronan, and Chance would drop everything, hop on the nearest jet, and ride off into a spin-off.
We’d 100% watch that show.
8. A suit and a second Chance
Lastly, there’s always the chance of Cane offering him a spot at one of his many companies overseas.
Maybe Chance might just trade in his badge for a briefcase.
Who knows? A fresh start, a new team, and a corner office in some fancy foreign city might be exactly what he needs.
Whatever happens, Chance’s exit better not be the coffin theory.
Because not only is he the only Chancellor left in town, but if the show does decide to kill Chance, fans are definitely not going to be happy.
