General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal that this really could be the end of Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) this time around.
Even though Kin has announced his exit many times over the years, it looks like he may be gone for good.
Nearly a year has passed since Scotty Baldwin vanished without a trace on General Hospital.
Despite his history of temporary departures, this time feels different.
Shriner recently revealed that Jen’s Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth’s replacement), played by actor Kai Taylor, has now taken over his longtime dressing room.
That seems to signal a permanent goodbye.
“This moment arrives for every actor,” Shriner wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“The only thing you can do is wash it down with a martini and accept that every day, fans want to snap a photo with you. I had an amazing experience and I appreciate the support from General Hospital fans over the years.”
On June 15, Shriner shared a video knocking on his old dressing room door, joking:
“Who is it?”
He also noted that last summer, he underwent two foot surgeries, which kept him away from the show — and he was never called back.
Fans last saw Scotty on August 16, 2024, helping Ava Jerome (Maura West) detain the pharmacist who tampered with Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bipolar medication.
He stepped out to get snacks — but all that remained was his bag on the ground. Scotty disappeared.
Since then, he’s hardly been mentioned, except when Rick Lansing (Rick Hearst) stepped in to handle Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) poisoning case.
Scotty Baldwin has been a core part of Port Charles for decades.
Shriner first appeared on GH in 1977 as Lee Baldwin’s (Peter Hansen) son.
His young romance with teenage Laura Webber (Genie Francis) made him a fan favorite.
Though he left in 1980 for NBC’s Texas, he returned in 1981 — just in time to catch the bouquet at Luke and Laura’s wedding.
He later joined the GH spinoff Port Charles, teaming up with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom).
In recent years, Scotty played a more supporting role, but his fan base remains loyal.
Will we ever see Scotty Baldwin again?
