Death of: 1 hour ago! General Hospital Gio Palmieri died, Big Sad Update!
General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease there will be a lot of backlash once Gio Palmieri’s true identity is revealed—and not only from Gio himself. Once he’s revealed as Brooklyn Chase’s grown son, his paternity will come out as well, and Dante Falconeri and Sonny will be blindsided.
Longtime viewers will remember that Dante and Sonny met when he shot Dominic Perelli, who had come to Port Charles from New York undercover to bring the mobster to justice. But neither knew they were father and son until Olivia Quartermaine (formerly Falconeri) saw what happened and screamed—Sonny had shot his own son!
Sonny and Olivia were about the same age when Dante was conceived as Dante and Brooklyn were that year in camp when Gio was conceived. Sonny, of course, was shocked and grieved that Dominic Perelli was really his son with Olivia—and that she never told him she had gotten pregnant.
Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) was much more supportive of Brooklyn when she admitted the truth and even offered to try to find the child. Sonny even financed Gio’s schooling as a lifelong friend of the Cerullos when Gio tragically lost both of his parents, which will soon come out. He was adopted in a private adoption.
So far, Brooklyn has no idea that the handsome violinist in his 20s, whom she sees and interacts with every day, is really her grown son. But her mother, Lo Cerullo (Rena Sofer), and grandmother, Gloria Cerullo (Ellen Travolta), both know the real truth. Since Gio was raised by a cousin, they were able to keep up with him over the years.
That’s why Lo is so shocked when Brooklyn reveals she told everything to Chase—except who her baby’s father is. Considering Chase and Dante are partners, something could slip. Still, Lo freaks out when she finds out Chase offered to investigate and search for the child. She just told Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) that the truth could never come out.
There is a possibility that someone could uncover the secret of Gio being Dante’s son before Chase even has a chance to investigate or Lo has a chance to make excuses. Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) was once suspicious of Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) being Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) daughter, and when she overheard the truth from the Floating Rib bathroom, she blabbed. That was entirely none of her business, but she made it her business to blow up Nina’s wedding and life anyway.
Lulu works for Brooklyn—at least, so far. If she overhears a conversation about the teenage pregnancy, she’ll dig into it and might find out the truth. Probably the first person she’ll tell is Dante after realizing he, Brooklyn, and Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) were in camp together that year.
The main reason Lo doesn’t want Gio exposed as Brooklyn and Dante’s son is because she doesn’t want his life to be blown up and feel like it’s been a lie. Gio adored the Cerullo cousin who was his adoptive mother, although the story he was told was that his father died in a war before he was born. Not to mention, Lo dreads the explanations she’ll have to give to everyone and the potential exposure of Sonny’s son Dante as the father. Brooklyn may even be upset.
But as it usually happens, the truth comes out—whether it be by Chase not finding matching records or Lulu snooping for Dante. Now, Dante will know exactly how his dad felt about him. And he’ll have to explain to Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) and even Sonny himself.
It’s shocking déjà vu!
