Michael Corinthos’s name is being dropped left and right on the show, and recent reports confirm that auditions have already taken place to replace Chad Duell in the role.
Michael Recast Confirmed — With Drama Offscreen
Belinda from Soap Dirt reports that recast auditions for Michael began weeks ago. The confirmation came, interestingly, via Robert Adamson, who had previously filled in for Duell. Adamson tweeted — and quickly deleted — a sarcastic thank-you to GH for not inviting him to read for the part, even though he had stepped in to play Michael three times with little notice.
His salty post not only revealed his frustration but also confirmed that auditions had occurred and that the role might already be cast. That means we could be seeing a new face as Michael Corinthos in Port Charles very soon.
Willow Heads to Germany — But Will She See Michael?

Why Michael Must Be the One to Take Down Drew
Belinda argues that no one is more justified than Michael in seeking revenge on Drew. Not only did Drew steal his wife and children, but he’s also disrespected Michael’s chosen father figure, Jason Morgan.

Lest anyone forget, Michael isn’t afraid to get dirty. He once wrestled custody of Avery from Sonny and even killed Claudia Zacchara to protect Carly. He was raised by Sonny and Carly, after all — two of Port Charles’s most ruthless players.
Now, with Drew having burned nearly every bridge, Michael is poised to strike. His return could mark the beginning of a long-awaited revenge arc, and it’s likely going to be explosive.
Who Should Play Recast Michael?
As for who should take on the recast, fans — and Belinda — have some suggestions. Matthew Atkinson or Darren Brooks from The Bold and the Beautiful could bring the intensity needed for the role. Rory Gibson from The Young and the Restless is another fan-favorite contender.
It’s possible we’ll first see the recast Michael wrapped in bandages with only his voice heard — saving the big face reveal for a dramatic twist during sweeps.
