General Hospital Spoilers

Just when fans started dreaming of a real future for Lucky and Liz… he was gone again. 💔 What happened to the story we were promised? So much build-up, so little payoff. Was it all for nothing—or is there more to come?

Lucky has come and gone on General Hospital in the blink of an eye. Fans celebrated his return, but now, less than a year later, he is leaving once again. What was the point?

Not So Lucky
A young Jonathan Jackson was the perfect son for legendary couple Luke (ex-Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis). The early years on the run, falling in love with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), their friendship with Nikolas (the late Tyler Christopher) and Emily (ex-Amber Tamblyn); those were great times in Port Charles. The character went on to be played by other actors, but to many fans, Jackson is the true Lucky.

There was excitement at the news of his return after so many years. New stories will be told! He would be reunited with Liz, become a father to Aiden (Colin Cassidy), and bond with a new Lulu (Alexa Havins). There would be new adventures with his friend Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson), and he could even save the world! But then, nothing. He spent weeks being held prisoner by Sidwell (Carlo Rota). Upon his return, he and Liz conducted some investigative work to catch Cyrus (Jeff Kober), but in the end, Lucky was babysitting a homebound Elizabeth with a broken leg. Even their love story was boring.Leaving On A Jet Plane
Although a little dull, Lucky and Elizabeth fell in love once again, but there were hints that Lucky was going to bail. She began confiding in Lucas (Van Hansis) that she was afraid that the love of her life wouldn’t stick around. But then she found the ring. He was going to propose. This was surely evidence that he would stay and finally build a life with her. He asked her to marry him, but the answer was no.

When Liz told Lucky that she didn’t believe he could live a regular life with her, he agreed. If he knew that, why the proposal? The next thing we know, Lucky is off to find new adventures. How did that happen so quickly?

Fans believe this whole return was a waste of time and potential. We all give a collective sigh of what could have been. Do you agree? Would you have wanted Lucky’s story to play out differently? Let us know in the comments section.
