The Bold and The Beautiful

Lisa Yamada’s Shocking Exit from B&B! Is Luna gone for good — or just for now?

Luna’s Shocking Exit from The Bold and the Beautiful: Is She Really Gone for Good?

Any longtime Bold & Beautiful fan knows that attempting to kill Steffy Forrester is a fast track to being written off — unless, of course, you’re Sheila Carter. Then, well… anything goes.

But for Luna Nozawa, who is not her notorious grandmother, the road may have finally run out. After yet another failed and dramatic attempt to eliminate Steffy — whom she blames for her strained non-relationship with newfound father Finn — Luna’s storyline took a lethal turn.

Let’s not forget: Luna already has two drugged men and a previous Steffy-shoving incident on her rap sheet. In her mind, a simple “sorry” should be enough. But for the residents of Los Angeles, and viewers alike, apologies don’t erase attempted murder.

From Sweetheart to Schemer

Lisa Yamada joined The Bold and the Beautiful in 2023 as Luna, a fresh-faced, well-meaning addition to the cast. But the sweetness quickly gave way to something darker.

After the revelation that Dollar Bill Spencer might be her father, Luna’s moral compass went haywire. Obsessed with wealth, legacy, and power, she began a dangerous path — one that included cheating on her boyfriend RJ Forrester with his cousin Zende (after “accidentally” ingesting Poppy’s infamous mints), and pursuing a fixation with Bill’s young son, Will.

Her transformation from innocent to unhinged was swift and shocking.

The July 8 Turning Point

In the July 8 episode, Luna’s latest breakdown came to a head.

During a chaotic confrontation, Luna’s gun discharged, hitting Sheila — naturally — in the foot. (Because where else would Sheila get shot?) Moments later, Steffy’s ex, Liam, burst onto the scene, only to take a bullet to the chest courtesy of Luna.

As if Liam didn’t have enough near-death experiences in his résumé.

But the most surprising twist came when Liam, wounded and clearly out of options, picked up the weapon and shot Luna in return.

Dead or Not Quite?

Following surgery to remove the bullet, Luna’s grandmother, Dr. Li Finnegan, delivered the crushing news: Luna had died during recovery. But on The Bold and the Beautiful, “dead” is never the end — just ask Taylor, Finn, Li, or Sheila, all of whom have “died” and come back with perfect hair and a dramatic monologue.

Rumors are already swirling that Luna’s “death” might not be the final chapter. Some subtle clues suggest that viewers — and Steffy — shouldn’t get too comfortable thinking Luna is gone forever.

What’s Next for Lisa Yamada?

Offscreen, Lisa Yamada is far from finished. A talented actress with an impressive résumé, she made her film debut in 2012’s Smashed alongside Aaron Paul and has since appeared in Party of Five, All American, and was a series regular on Cruel Summer.

Yamada already has her next project lined up: a recurring role in Elle, the Legally Blonde prequel.

A Final Curtain Call… or a Cliffhanger?

Whether Luna is truly gone remains uncertain. Given the show’s history of resurrecting the “dead,” her return is not out of the question. For now, though, fans are left to wonder:
Is this the end of Luna Nozawa, or just the beginning of her next twist?

One thing is certain — in the world of The Bold and the Beautiful, no one is ever truly gone.
