The Young and the Restless

Mark Grossman Health Update: Shares Di@gnosis For the First Time!

Mark Grossman really was like an open book in his recent podcast with Maurice Benard.

The Young and the Restless star just opened up about living with tics and how it’s impacted his life — so watch till the end to know all about it.

Hey everyone, welcome to Trend Street!

Fans of Young and the Restless, if you have followed Mark Grossman for a while, then you might have noticed some things about him.

Grossman, who plays Adam Newman on the show, has this habit of twitching his eyes and certain body movements that had caught our attention when he was giving interviews — or sometimes even between scenes.

But we didn’t think much about it until recently when he revealed that he has tics, which he’s been living with since he was a teenager.

“I mean, it’s like I’ll blink my eyes and I’ll kind of… I have, you know, like tension in my body. But it probably started in high school, damn — when I started messing myself up from riding my dirt bike.

But yeah, it is funny — when I’m doing scenes and I’m in an intense storyline, like, it will kind of… like I’ll… it’ll like get my neck.”

Despite having to deal with tics from a young age, Grossman says it never affected his quality of life.

“I remember I would go to a neurologist — I’ve probably been three times over the years.

But yeah, I was curious if they had anything that would stop tics, but I just never… like, it didn’t really affect my quality of life.

So I just didn’t love being on medication if I didn’t absolutely need it.”

“You don’t have it now, right?”

Grossman also revealed what having a tic is really like for him — and the reason why he chose not to take medication, even after doctors prescribed it to him.

“It’s like an itch I kind of have to scratch.

But I never really wanted to take medication for it because it doesn’t really affect me that much.

It’s pretty subtle. But it’s something that… yeah, I’d probably say high school, when I started breaking all my bones.

I remember the first guy was like, ‘You could take Xanax, you could take Klonopin.’

And I remember trying that for like a week, and I just felt like a zombie — can’t do it.

No, I didn’t want to be on it.”

You won’t find a more honest moment than this.

Grossman truly opened up in the interview, giving fans a rare glimpse of him not as a soap star but as a real, down-to-earth person.
