Shemar Moore was born in Oakland, California, on April 20th, 1970, to Marilyn Wilson, a business consultant and teacher, and Sherrod Moore.

After his parents separated, Shemar’s mom — who has Irish and French Canadian roots — moved abroad with him while he was still a baby.
He spent much of his early childhood in places like Denmark and Bahrain, giving him a unique global perspective at a young age.

Eventually, during his teenage years, Shemar returned to the U.S. and settled in California.
