Heartbreaking Loss of a Bold & Beautiful Vet
Our heart goes out to former Bold and the Beautiful star Vincent Irizarry, as the actor just lost his beloved mother.
Hey everyone, welcome to Trend Street. Fans will remember Vincent Irizarry from his time in the daytime industry. However, Irizarry has put his soap career on pause, as he’s now spending time working as a real estate agent.
But recently, the Emmy-winning actor had to face a heartbreaking loss — his beloved mother Carmemella Miluso Irizarry sadly passed away at the age of 87 on April 5th.
Irizarry shared the sad news on his Instagram Story this past Sunday, letting fans know that his mother passed away surrounded by family.
“Yesterday morning, our beautiful mother passed away with her family surrounding her,” Irizarry stated.
He went on to announce that they would be planning a celebration of life and memorial service to be held in New York, tentatively sometime in July.
He then thanked everyone for all of the prayers, love, and support, and added:
“We are blessed for the gift she was to us.”
Just about a month ago, Irizarry’s sister Tina had even shared a heartfelt post on his Facebook page featuring a photo of their parents on their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple met when Irizarry’s mother was just 9 years old, making those memories even more special.
Our hearts go out to Irizarry and his family during this incredibly tough time.
Irizarry’s soap journey first kicked off in 1983 on Guiding Light as Lujack Spalding (or his twin, Nick), where he became part of a super couple with Beth Reigns.
He also played Dr. Scott Clark in Santa Barbara back in 1987. However, his most iconic role came in 1997 when he joined All My Children as the scheming Dr. David Hayward, a role he portrayed on and off until 2011, with a return in the online reboot in 2013.
He also briefly appeared on One Life to Live and starred as David Chow on The Young and the Restless for a year in 2007.
Irizarry later joined Days of Our Lives as Deimos Kiriakis, which earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination.
And that’s not all — he’s been the ultimate soap opera star, even taking on the role of Dr. Jordan Armstrong on The Bold and the Beautiful from 2019 to 2022.
Over the years, he racked up several Emmy nominations — in 1986, 2002, and 2017. But perhaps his biggest win came in 2009, when he took home the Daytime Emmy for his role in All My Children.
Let’s all send our love and condolences to him and his family in the comments below.
