CBS Star DIES Suddenly At 40, Young And Restless Nick Died, Today’s Big Sad 😭 News.

The Young and the Restless: Matt Clark Returns to Shake Up Genoa City

Genoa City fans, brace yourselves—Matt Clark is back, and the chills that hit Friday’s episode of The Young and the Restless were no ordinary cold front. Landing in town with a singular purpose—to seek revenge on the Newmans—Matt’s return has already sent shockwaves through the city.

Actor Joshua Morrow, who portrays Nick Newman, commented on the storyline, emphasizing that Matt’s return was entirely expected. “Based on his track record and what went down in Los Angeles, it’s not really who he is to let it go,” Morrow explained. “So, Nick came back to Genoa City fully expecting it to happen.”

Indeed, viewers wouldn’t have a show without Matt’s menacing presence. For Morrow, the storyline has been a personal thrill. “I like the players involved. I like the way it’s unfolding,” he said. “It really gives you a chance to get back into that old Nick/Sharon/Matt Clark dynamic that was so gripping back in the ’90s.”

Morrow has been praised for making Nick’s rage palpable as he confronts a demon he believed had been sent to hell decades ago. “The workload is substantial, but that’s what they pay me for, and I’m happy for it,” he said. “I always tell head writer and executive producer Josh Griffith, ‘Give me the ball, dude.’ And he certainly did.”

An added bonus for Morrow has been the opportunity to work closely with daytime veteran Roger Howarth, who portrays the new iteration of Matt Clark. “I cannot speak highly enough of Roger,” Morrow gushed. “What he’s done with Matt Clark is incredible. You know, the two previous actors, Eddie Stratien and Rick Hearst, were amazing, but they each played very different versions of Matt. Howarth’s Matt 3.0 does something none of the previous iterations did—it made me, Joshua, not Nick, feel sorry for Matt. I’ve never once felt sorry for that character before.”

Howarth’s performance brings depth to Matt Clark, allowing audiences to explore how he became the villain they love to hate. “It makes me want to know more about Matt, where he came from, and why he is this way,” Morrow added.

As the story unfolds, the stakes for Nick grow higher. He will be forced to ask himself how far he’s willing to go to protect his loved ones. “For the first time in his life, he’s ready to go the distance,” Morrow said. “Nick is the hero. He acts with his heart, not his head. But after this decades-long journey with Matt, this is a real moment for him. The audience is going to have to accept this version of Nick because the situation is unlike anything they’ve seen before.”

With Matt Clark back in Genoa City, fans can expect a gripping, emotionally charged storyline, full of suspense, moral dilemmas, and the explosive drama that has kept viewers tuning in for decades.
