We just had Brighton James come over to Beyond the Gates and the fans ate it up.
But the actor just confirmed it’s not the last time you’re about to see him. Is BTG trying to bring James on board with the show? Let’s find out right away.

The Y&R and Beyond the Gates crossover was an absolute hit. Brighton James brought Devon Winters over to Fairmont Crest to pitch signing Anita to his record label. And honestly, it made total sense.
The storyline even respected the off-screen history. Anita’s group was first introduced by Neil Winters at Indigo years ago, so everything felt connected and natural.
He even shared scenes with Carla Mosley’s Dany, and it was oozing with chemistry — and how could it not? If you remember, Mosley once had a short stint as Amanda Sinclair on Y&R back in 2021.
And just like the fans who loved this crossover episode, James did too — even though he got first-day jitters. New set, new co-stars, it can be intimidating.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, he said:
“It’s kind of about representing Y&R in the best way and being my best for Tuni and Davis. You know, being the focal points of the show, but they made me feel good.”
And then there’s the little spark between Devon and Dany. Fans definitely noticed it — and James did too. It’s got everyone wondering, could this lead to more on-screen chemistry?
And according to James, the answer is absolutely.
“From how well the crossover went behind the scenes to the ideas that they’ve had for the future, I think they want to keep stuff open for there to be any potential interactions with our show and theirs,” he said.
So Devon and Dany’s storyline isn’t just wishful thinking. There’s a real chance we could see them cross paths again and explore a connection.
And who knows? Maybe Dany can make him stay on Fairmont Crest, too.
Plus, with Melissa Ordway only popping in sometimes as Abby, Devon and Abby’s marriage is clearly on shaky ground. That opens the door for Devon to relocate to Fairmont Crest, dive into his music career, and maybe even bring Anita along to produce Sharon and Traci’s album with him.
And then, who knows — he could bump into Dany again, swap stories about recent breakups, maybe go on a tentative date, and of course, that simmering chemistry could get the better of them.
Sure, Devon’s roots in Genoa City are deep. But let’s be real — if Y&R could mishandle Chance so badly, anything is possible.
Even if Devon stays put in GC, his storylines have mostly been boring corporate drama lately. Who’s running which company? Who’s scheming? Rinse and repeat. Fans — and frankly Devon himself — deserve something much better.
