CBS Star DIES Suddenly At Age 35, Young & Restless Chance Really Died, Very Big Sad Update!
Trisha Cast Opens Up About Learning of Chance’s Death — and How Y&R Will Finally Give Nina Closure
“Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Before starting the video, please go ahead and hit the subscribe button.”
Back in July, The Young and the Restless fans were shaken as Chance Chancellor took his final breath in Cain’s arms. But the shock grew even deeper when Nina wasn’t brought back to Genoa City to say goodbye to her son. Viewers were stunned — and so was the actress behind the character.
Recently, CBS soap veteran Trisha Cast opened up to Soap Opera Digest about how she discovered Chance had been killed off, why she felt Nina had to return, and what fans can expect from the emotional farewell still to come.
A Shocking Revelation — From a Waiter, Not the Studio
One would assume Cast would have learned about Chance’s death directly from the producers or writers.
But that’s not how it happened.
Instead, the actress found out from — believe it or not — a waiter at a restaurant.
Cast admitted she was stunned and immediately went online to confirm whether what she had just heard was true. Unfortunately for her, and for longtime fans, it was.
“I was floored,” she recalled. “I couldn’t believe they hadn’t told me.”
Returning for Christine & Danny’s Wedding — With One Condition
When producers called Cast to reprise her role for the Christine and Danny wedding, she agreed — but stressed that Nina’s return needed to address Chance’s death.
And according to Cast, the show listened.
She shared that the upcoming scenes will respectfully close that chapter for Nina, giving both the character and the audience a long-awaited moment of healing.
“I’m happy for the fans who wanted closure,” Cast said. “I think the scenes were written and delivered with the care they deserved. Nina couldn’t leave town without saying what she needed to say.”
Nina and Cain: A Confrontation Fans Have Been Waiting For
Fans have been wondering what Nina will say to Cain, considering that if he hadn’t gathered everyone in Nice, France, Chance might never have been in danger.
Cast hinted that viewers will be more than satisfied with how the emotionally charged encounter plays out.
She also shared how much she enjoyed acting opposite Billy Flynn, praising his talent and expressing gratitude that her return allowed her to participate in that powerful storyline.
What Comes Next?
With Nina finally able to express her grief, anger, and love, viewers may see a new chapter for her — one written with the compassion longtime fans have been hoping for.
But the lingering question remains:
How will Nina react to Cain once she finally confronts him?
And will forgiveness — or blame — shape their future?
One thing is certain: The Young and the Restless is preparing to deliver an emotional payoff years in the making.
