Days of Our Lives Early Weekly Spoilers September 7–11: EJ Digs Into Cat’s Secret, Joy Faces Surgery Crisis and Chad & Belle Walk Into Danger
Days of Our Lives Early Weekly Spoilers September 7–11: EJ Digs Into Cat’s Secret, Joy Faces Surgery Crisis and Chad & Belle Walk Into Danger
Days of Our Lives is setting up another tense week in Salem from September 7 through September 11, with EJ DiMera becoming increasingly suspicious after Cat’s ISA confession, Joy Wesley heading into a frightening spinal surgery, and Chad and Belle putting themselves in serious danger as they continue following the mysterious chess-set clues.
Elsewhere, Holly faces a hostile new enemy, Philip takes a huge gamble in Monte Carlo, Sarah may begin reconsidering her feelings for Xander, and the identity of a mysterious new arrival could shake up the DiMera family.
Here’s what viewers can expect.
EJ Starts Investigating Cat
EJ may have appeared calm when Cat revealed information about her connection to the ISA, but that calm is unlikely to last.
Behind the scenes, EJ seems deeply unsettled.
Rather than simply accepting Cat’s explanation, he may begin investigating her past and looking for evidence that she is still connected to the agency. Given EJ’s suspicious nature, he will probably want to know exactly what Cat has been doing, who she has been communicating with and whether she has been lying to him.
Rita could become an important part of this investigation.
EJ has already relied on her for several sensitive assignments, and he may now ask her to keep a much closer eye on Cat.
But Rita is not necessarily following every order exactly as EJ expects.
That could create another problem.
If Rita begins making decisions on her own, EJ may discover that the person he trusts to handle his dirty work is creating new risks behind his back.
Chad and Belle Head Into Danger in Italy
Meanwhile, Chad and Belle continue investigating the strange chess-set mystery.
They have collected several clues, including the “Verde” reference, the LRA coin, the mysterious note and information connected to the symphony program.
All those pieces lead them toward Italy.
Unfortunately, EJ may decide to join them.
Chad and Belle clearly do not want EJ interfering, but he has his own reasons for traveling abroad. The trip could give EJ the opportunity to investigate the clinic where he previously received treatment and possibly learn more about Cat.
Once the group arrives in Italy, things become even more dangerous.
Someone appears to be watching them.
A hidden observer monitors Chad, Belle and EJ while they search for clues, suggesting that the chess-set mystery is being carefully controlled by someone behind the scenes.
That raises a frightening possibility.
The clues may not simply be guiding them toward the truth.
They may be leading them into a trap.
Joy Wesley Faces Major Spinal Surgery
Back in Salem, Joy Wesley prepares for one of the most frightening moments of her life.
Joy is heading into major back surgery, and the emotional pressure is already affecting her.
While lying in her hospital bed, she imagines a romantic future with Alex, including a fantasy in which they are married and he carries her over the threshold.
The dream makes it clear just how deeply Joy’s emotions are tied to Alex.
Before surgery, Philip visits Joy.
He may confront her over the fact that she apparently has not told Chloe, Nancy or Craig about the seriousness of her condition.
Keeping major spinal surgery secret from her family is a huge decision.
And the spoilers suggest that Joy’s medical storyline may become even more frightening.
A crisis could occur either during the operation or in recovery.
If complications arise, Alex may suddenly be forced to face how much Joy means to him.
Stephanie and Alex Find Common Ground — But Theo Could Ruin It
Stephanie and Alex may finally reach a calmer place in their relationship.
The two find some common ground, suggesting that the tension between them could begin to ease.
However, that progress may not last.
Alex could soon discover that Stephanie spent a night in bed with Theo.
Even if nothing romantic happened and the situation was completely platonic, Alex may not react calmly.
Jealousy could immediately destroy the fragile peace they have just established.
And with Joy already imagining a future with Alex, this romantic triangle could become even more complicated.
Sarah and Xander Slowly Move Toward Reconciliation
The Salem daddy-daughter dance may create an important emotional shift for Sarah and Xander.
Xander attends with Victoria, while Brady brings Rachel and Chad dances with Charlotte.
For Xander, seeing his daughter dressed up and enjoying the evening could bring out his softer side.
Sarah may notice.
The event could remind her of the family life she once shared with Xander and begin changing the way she sees him.
If Sarah starts reconsidering her feelings, she may also begin pulling away from Brady.
That does not mean Sarah and Xander will reunite immediately.
But the road back to each other may finally be opening.
Kristen Sends Rachel a Surprise
Brady and Sarah become suspicious after Rachel receives an unexpected gift.
The sender is Kristen.
The gift may be something connected to the daddy-daughter dance, perhaps a dress, jewelry or another sentimental gesture.
Brady has been trying to protect Rachel from Kristen’s influence, so even a seemingly innocent present could cause concern.
Kristen may not physically be in Rachel’s life, but she clearly has no intention of disappearing emotionally.
Holly Faces a New Enemy
Holly continues dealing with the aftermath of the attempted mugging and the growing hostility of Mason Whitfield.
Mason, a former Marine returning to college under the GI Bill, clearly has a serious problem with Holly.
But the reason remains a mystery.
Holly may have to face Mason in class during the week of September 7, and his hostility could escalate.
Tate may step in to defend her, especially if Mason begins deliberately making Holly uncomfortable.
The bigger question is why Mason hates her so much.
There appears to be more history here than Holly realizes.
Philip Makes a Huge Gamble in Monte Carlo
Philip and Gabi are also taking a major financial risk.
The pair head to Monte Carlo hoping to win enough money to save the Kiriakis mansion and possibly Titan.
It is an enormous gamble.
If Philip succeeds, he could save his family’s legacy.
If he fails, the consequences could be devastating.
At the same time, Salem is still waiting to discover who purchased the Kiriakis mansion.
One theory is that the mystery buyer may have ties to someone viewers have not yet seen on-screen, which could set up another major storyline.
Is Sydney DiMera Returning?
Another intriguing development arrives on September 9, when actress Sydney Mallea is expected to make her Days of Our Lives debut.
There has been speculation that she could be playing a recast Sydney DiMera.
If that turns out to be true, EJ’s trip to Italy suddenly becomes even more interesting.
EJ could reconnect with his daughter overseas and potentially bring her back to Salem.
A Sydney return would immediately reshape the DiMera family dynamic and could give EJ an emotional storyline very different from his current schemes.
EJ May Be Walking Into His Biggest Problem Yet
The week of September 7–11 appears to put EJ at the center of several dangerous mysteries at once.
He is suspicious of Cat.
He is investigating her ISA connection.
He is traveling to Italy with Chad and Belle.
He may revisit the clinic connected to his past.
And someone appears to be watching them as they follow the chess-set trail.
EJ believes he is the one doing the investigating.
But it may soon become clear that someone else has been several moves ahead of him all along.
Will EJ expose Cat’s secret before she can protect herself? Will Joy survive her spinal surgery without complications? And are Chad, Belle and EJ following clues toward the truth — or straight into a deadly DiMera trap?
