The Young and the Restless spoilers for August 10–21 promise two intense weeks in Genoa City as Nick Newman’s addiction crisis reaches a terrifying new low, Nikki Newman appears to turn against her son, Cassie returns in a haunting way, and Billy Abbott’s obsession threatens everything he has rebuilt.
The drama begins on Monday, August 10, with Nick hiding out in a rundown motel after walking away from rehab.
Ignoring messages from Sharon, Victoria and the rest of his family, Nick continues using drugs until he eventually passes out.
That is when the nightmare begins.
Nick’s Horrifying Nightmare Brings Cassie Back
While unconscious, Nick is forced to confront some of his darkest fears.
Matt appears in his dream and takes Nick into a disturbing version of the Shadow Room, where Nick sees Sharon passed out and looking as though she has been pulled into the same destructive lifestyle.
Things become even more painful when Nick sees what first appears to be Mariah.
But it is actually Cassie.
Cassie angrily confronts Nick over what he has done to himself and the people around him. She blames him for leaving rehab after only one day and forces him to face the possibility that his addiction could destroy everyone he loves.
The nightmare grows even darker when Adam suddenly appears and attacks Nick.
Then the scene shifts again.
Nick finds himself at the Newman ranch, where Adam and Chelsea are screaming that Connor is dead after accidentally getting into Nick’s fentanyl.
Chelsea says they will take Christian away from him.
For Nick, the nightmare becomes a brutal portrait of his deepest guilt: that his addiction will eventually hurt an innocent child.
Nikki Rages at Nick — But It Is Not Real
The most shocking moment comes when Nikki appears.

By Wednesday, Nick tries to get Marie to leave, insisting that he came to the motel because he wanted to be alone.
Marie has other ideas.
She tells him he needs to relax and suggests the two of them could have the “time of their lives.”
That could lead Nick into an even more destructive combination of drugs, sex and reckless behavior.
If Victoria, Sharon, Nikki or Adam eventually find him in that condition, the fallout could be devastating.
The Newman Family Desperately Searches for Nick
Victor and Nikki are supposed to be enjoying time in Venice, but Nick’s disappearance appears to bring them rushing back to Genoa City.
By Thursday, August 13, they are deeply worried.
Sharon, Victoria and Nikki gather at the ranch, all struggling with the fact that Nick is missing and refusing to respond.
Nikki tries to maintain control, but it is clear that she is terrified.
The search intensifies during the week of August 17–21.
Considering the motel Nick is hiding in has a long history of attracting trouble in Genoa City, it may only be a matter of time before someone thinks to look there.
The bigger question is who will find him first.
Adam saving Nick would create a powerful moment between the brothers, although Matt could also play a role in getting Nick back to rehab.
Victoria and Kyle Get Dangerously Close
Nick’s disappearance also brings out a vulnerable side of Victoria.
Kyle witnesses her emotional breakdown and comforts her while she cries.
As they pull apart, the chemistry becomes obvious.
