Young & Restless Fave Shares Her ‘Story of Love and Loss’

Life is full of so many happy occasions but with the good, there is always the bad — and the sad — and now one The Young and the Restless alum has done something really special that could help you and your family. Jessica Collins, who played attorney Avery Clark from 2011 to 2015, has written a book based on her own loss.

The former daytime actress posted a video on her official Instagram to announce that she’s written a new book titled Where’s Big Dog: A Story of Love and Loss, which is officially available for preorder. “This story is deeply personal to me,” Collins shared than explained, “It’s inspired by my sweet Lucy who so many of you remember.” If you follow her, you’ve likely seen many posts shared in the past of her furbaby, who she lost in February of 2023.

Shortly after Lucy passed, Collins posted a video to pay tribute to the pup she had for “14 ½ beautiful years.”

 

“I co-wrote this book with my dear friend Lisa Melamed and together we wanted to create a story of comfort and healing,” she added. “If you’ve ever loved a pet, the book Where’s Big Dog was written for you. I am so excited to share our book with all of you.”

 

Many of her daytime friends jumped into the comments to congratulate Collins on the book, including her former castmate Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea), who cheered, “Love this,” to which Collins replied, “Thank you!”

And we too send the actress our congrats and we’ll definitely be adding this to our to-read list!
