Days of Our Lives: Chad Explodes at Cat as Lexie’s Secret Threatens to Destroy Everything

A major confrontation is brewing on Days of Our Lives, and Cat Greene may be about to pay a heavy personal price for keeping one of EJ DiMera’s biggest secrets.

Upcoming developments point to Chad DiMera furiously confronting Cat after learning that she knew Lexie Carver was secretly being kept beneath the DiMera mansion — and said nothing.

For Cat, the silence is connected to her covert ISA investigation into EJ. For Chad, however, it may look like yet another betrayal from a woman whose real motives have been hidden from him for far too long.

And with Lexie apparently running out of time, Chad may have very little sympathy for Cat’s explanation.

Cat Has Been Secretly Investigating EJ

Cat has spent months working behind the scenes to gather evidence against EJ.

Although she publicly serves as EJ’s personal assistant, Cat is actually working with the ISA and has been coordinating with Rafe Hernandez in an effort to uncover enough evidence to finally bring EJ down.

Recently, Cat became suspicious after spotting EJ emerging from the DiMera mansion’s secret tunnel system.

She confronted him and argued that, as his assistant, she needed to know what was happening.

EJ refused.

His message was simple: if Cat needed to know, he would tell her.

Of course, that only made Cat more determined.

While Rafe heads to Alamainia in hopes of finding Gwen Rizczech and convincing her to testify against EJ, Cat remains in Salem digging for anything that could help the investigation.

Unfortunately for her, she soon overhears something far more personal than she expected.

Theo Realizes Lexie Is Not in South Africa

Meanwhile, Theo Carver becomes increasingly convinced that something is wrong with his mother.

He had been told Lexie was in South Africa visiting Celeste, but several details do not add up.

When Theo tried calling Lexie, her phone did not appear to be overseas. He later contacted Celeste and noticed the difference immediately.

Theo knows South Africa well, so he quickly realized Lexie was likely still in the United States.

Things became even more suspicious when Lani discovered there was no commercial flight record showing Lexie leaving Salem.

The last known information places her at the Salem airfield.

After that, she seemingly disappeared.

With Kristen, Gwen and Lexie all missing under strange circumstances, Theo, Johnny and Lani begin wondering whether EJ could somehow be connected.

EJ Reveals the Truth to Johnny

Johnny eventually goes directly to EJ for answers.

She is now staying in rooms connected to the secret tunnels beneath the house.

EJ insists that this is not what he wanted.

He believes Theo and Abe should know the truth, but Lexie made him promise not to tell them.

And despite his own feelings, EJ intends to honor her final wish.

Johnny, however, points out that he never made such a promise himself.

Cat Hears Everything — and Stays Silent

Cat now knows exactly where Lexie is.

She knows Theo is desperately searching for his mother.

She knows Lexie is dying.

And yet Cat’s ISA mission places her in an impossible position.

The investigation into EJ is extremely sensitive, and Cat has already gone far beyond normal boundaries to keep it alive.

She has stolen evidence, crossed legal lines and ignored warnings from both Rafe and Andrew Donovan that she is becoming too obsessed with taking EJ down.
