The week of July 27–31 brings shocking discoveries, dangerous schemes and emotional confrontations to Days of Our Lives. Gabi Hernandez receives disturbing information about the person stealing her designs, Sarah Horton uncovers a surprising clue in Holly Jonas’ case, and Kristen DiMera’s desperate escape plan ends in disaster.
Before those storylines explode, Leo Stark and Gabi join forces to investigate the counterfeit Gabi Chic handbags. Chad has already approved Leo’s article about the scandal, while the FBI is also looking into the operation. Gwen’s fake purse originally led Leo and Gabi to the case, but her sudden disappearance now raises even more questions.
When Leo visits Gwen’s room at the Salem Inn, he notices that her bed has not been slept in. Since Gwen previously warned him that EJ DiMera should be blamed if anything happened to her, Leo may tell Gabi about her suspicions. He could also reveal that Gwen arranged a “dead man’s switch” with her attorney, ensuring that evidence of EJ’s crimes would be released if she disappeared.
Leo later convinces Melinda Trask to help him. Melinda may be the attorney holding Gwen’s evidence, which could place EJ in serious legal danger.
Meanwhile, Holly continues insisting that the pills discovered in her bag do not belong to her. Tate and Sarah remain suspicious, even though Holly makes a reasonable argument: she would never have asked Tate to search the bag if she knew drugs were inside it.
The bag was brought to the hospital by Xander, but Bonnie apparently packed it. Sarah may ask Xander to return to the mansion and question Bonnie about what happened. Sarah is soon stunned by a new development in Holly’s case, possibly evidence proving that someone deliberately planted the pills.
Johnny also confronts EJ and demands to know whether he framed Holly. EJ is responsible, but it remains unclear whether he will confess to his son or continue lying. Johnny has already been disturbed by his father’s actions, and this betrayal may finally force him to stop protecting EJ.
Sarah and Xander will also share a rare peaceful moment. Their connection continues to grow, suggesting that a reunion may eventually be possible. Sarah may still tell Brady that she loves him, but her feelings for Xander have never completely disappeared.
Elsewhere, Kristen’s plan to escape Salem becomes increasingly dangerous.
Kristen wants Lexie to replace her when EJ’s people take her to the DiMera family island. Because both women are EJ’s sisters, Kristen believes the island staff might accept Lexie without asking questions. Lexie is dying and appears willing to spend her final days away from Salem, but her declining health threatens the entire plan.
After renewing her vows with Abe, Lexie suffers another serious collapse. Abe and Theo rush her to University Hospital, where they are likely to discover the truth about her condition. Both men will be furious that Lexie kept her diagnosis secret, and EJ may become the target of their anger once they learn about the planned island switch.
Kristen also shares an emotional goodbye with Rachel during a visit to Bayview. She tells her daughter that she is her heart and greatest treasure, language that may immediately make Brady suspicious. Kristen clearly believes she is about to disappear, but her plan does not unfold as expected.
A masked man soon kidnaps Kristen before Lexie can take her place. The abductor may be the same person responsible for Gwen’s disappearance. If Gwen and Kristen both end up trapped on the DiMera island, it would create a particularly ironic situation. Kristen once imprisoned Sarah there, while Gwen helped ensure that Sarah remained separated from Xander.
Gabi’s counterfeit-design mystery also takes a major turn. She is expected to learn new information about the person stealing her creations, and the truth may hit much closer to home than she expects. Gabi currently believes Xander and Philip are targeting her, but she may soon realize that they are not responsible.
Leo could be the person who uncovers the real culprit behind the fake Gabi Chic merchandise. The revelation is expected to shock both him and Gabi. Once the truth emerges, Gabi may reconsider working with Xander and Philip to shut down the counterfeit operation.
At Salem University Hospital, Kayla believes EJ will soon lose control of the institution. Impressed by Cat’s work, she may offer her a permanent position. However, EJ has also asked Cat to become his personal assistant at DiMera Enterprises, making it clear that he has no intention of letting her leave his orbit.
Cat will continue hypnosis sessions with Marlena, potentially revealing more about what happened between her and EJ in Italy. Those memories could influence Belle and Chad’s plans to travel overseas in search of answers.
With Gwen missing, Kristen abducted, Lexie gravely ill and EJ’s crimes threatening to destroy his family, Salem is heading toward one of its most explosive weeks yet.
