Days of Our Lives Spoilers July 27–31: Philip Fights Back, Joy Pushes Alex Too Far and Susan Turns on EJ
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of July 27–31 reveal that several Salem residents will find themselves facing accusations, dangerous secrets and increasingly desperate enemies.
Philip Kiriakis will fight to clear both his name and Titan Industries after Gabi Hernandez blames him and Xander for the counterfeit merchandise scandal. Meanwhile, Joy Wesley’s demands could threaten Alex and Stephanie’s marriage, and the investigation into Gwen’s disappearance will lead Leo and Rafe toward a shocking new suspect.
Elsewhere, Susan Banks returns to Salem and confronts EJ DiMera over his increasingly ruthless behaviour. As evidence begins to pile up against him, EJ may not realise that the walls are finally closing in.
Monday, July 27: Philip Challenges Gabi’s Accusations
The week begins with Philip attempting to convince Gabi that neither he nor Xander was responsible for the counterfeit bags connected to her investment.
Gabi initially believes the men at Titan may have betrayed her, but Philip points out a major weakness in that theory. Titan was counting on Gabi’s money, so sabotaging her business would make little sense.
Philip’s argument may finally persuade Gabi to reconsider her accusations. However, her suspicions could then shift toward someone connected to DiMera Enterprises.
The real culprit may be much closer to Gabi than she realises.
At the same time, Joy makes a shocking demand of Alex. Stephanie has already complained that Joy continues to call him repeatedly, supposedly because of the injuries she suffered. However, Joy now appears to be taking advantage of Alex’s guilt.
When Joy delivers an ultimatum, Alex walks away from the pub looking visibly frustrated. Ari witnesses the confrontation and sarcastically applauds Joy’s manipulative move.
Leo also crosses paths with Gus, while Rafe turns his attention to Gwen’s disappearance.
Cat gives Rafe a document she claims is Gwen’s written confession. Cat previously hacked into Melinda’s computer system, copied the file and then deleted the original. Although the confession may contain damaging information about EJ, the way Cat obtained it could make it difficult to use as legal evidence.
Cat is warned not to underestimate EJ. With Gwen missing and sensitive information now circulating, Cat could become his next target.
Tuesday, July 28: Xander Connects EJ to Holly’s Drugs
Xander shares a disturbing theory with Sarah and Brady. He remembers that EJ may have had an opportunity to place drugs inside Holly’s bag while it was near the nurses’ station.
If security footage exists, it could prove whether EJ was involved.
Sarah, Brady and Xander may begin quietly investigating, knowing that confronting EJ without evidence could be dangerous.
Meanwhile, Tate and Holly reconcile after their recent argument. Holly was furious when Tate assumed that she had started taking pills again, but the couple may finally be ready to discuss what happened honestly.
Kate also apologises to Roman, potentially over the conflict involving Johnny. However, her apology could have a deeper purpose.
Kate may be concerned about another woman becoming emotionally close to Roman and could decide that she wants to repair their marriage before it is too late.
Elsewhere, EJ is urged to listen to his conscience. Unfortunately, EJ has spent so long justifying his actions that he may no longer recognise the difference between protecting his family and destroying other people’s lives.
Wednesday, July 29: Susan Banks Confronts EJ
Johnny attempts to support Chanel as she struggles physically and emotionally.
Chanel’s health may be deteriorating because of her treatment, and spoilers indicate that she will soon face a frightening medical crisis. She is expected to experience bleeding and go into premature labour, forcing Johnny to rush her to the hospital.
Kayla will do everything possible to save both Chanel and her unborn baby, but the situation could become one of the week’s most emotional storylines.
Leo asks Rafe for help finding Gwen. He explains that Gwen created a “dead man’s switch” and warned that EJ should be blamed if anything happened to her.
However, Rafe already received much of this information from Cat. Even so, Leo remains desperate to locate Gwen and may push for federal assistance.
Susan Banks also returns to confront her son.
Susan becomes convinced that EJ is turning into his father, Stefano DiMera. She angrily tells EJ that he is not Stefano and that she will not allow him to become the same kind of monster.
The problem is that Susan may already be too late. EJ’s recent actions suggest he is embracing the darkest parts of the DiMera legacy.
Abe and Theo also catch Lexie in a lie. Lexie has claimed that she is leaving to visit her mother, but she is secretly planning to take Kristen’s place and travel to a private island.
Her attempt to protect Kristen could place Lexie in terrible danger.
Thursday, July 30: Rachel Returns Home
Rachel is released from Bayview, giving Brady and the rest of her family a reason to celebrate.
Her return home could bring Belle, Tate and other loved ones together. However, Kristen’s uncertain situation may cast a shadow over the reunion.
Alex tells Stephanie that he will never agree to Joy’s conditions. Whatever Joy has demanded, Alex now appears to understand that giving in would only allow her to interfere further in his marriage.
Joy then seeks legal advice from Belle. Since Belle is serving as district attorney rather than working as a private lawyer, Joy’s request may involve the shooting or Stephanie’s potential legal exposure.
If Joy is using Stephanie as leverage against Alex, she could be preparing to take the conflict much further.
Gabi surprises Philip, and the two are expected to end up in each other’s arms. Gabi may apologise for accusing him or decide to move forward with her investment in Titan.
Their reconciliation could also revive their romantic connection.
Sarah later becomes furious when she finds EJ visiting Holly. She orders him to stay away, but Holly is an adult and can decide who visits her.
Sarah nevertheless has a compelling reason to distrust him. During a serious conversation with Holly, she may reveal that she, Xander and Brady suspect EJ planted the drugs.
Friday, July 31: Leo Gets a Lead on Gwen
Abe and Theo organise a touching surprise for Lexie. Wanting to make up for lost time, they create a Christmas-in-July celebration complete with a decorated tree, gifts and festive hats.
Abe tells Lexie how deeply he loves her, and she returns the sentiment. Unfortunately, Lexie is still expected to leave them behind as part of her plan to help Kristen.
The timing could become tragic if her health suddenly collapses before she completes the mission.
Leo receives what appears to be a message from Dimitri after asking him about Gwen’s whereabouts. The information points toward Alamainia, convincing Leo that he needs to travel there as quickly as possible.
Chad and Belle are already preparing for a European trip connected to the mysterious chess set. Leo may persuade them to take him along so that he can search for Gwen before they continue to Italy.
Chad also updates Rafe on the investigation.
Meanwhile, Javi and Gus discuss their future, but Gus may not be the trustworthy man Javi believes him to be. His possible connection to Gwen’s disappearance makes him one of the most suspicious figures in the storyline.
Kristen and EJ share an unusually honest conversation before Kristen is kidnapped. A henchman forces her into a cargo container and tells her to enjoy the journey.
Lexie is supposed to arrive and exchange herself for Kristen, but her worsening health could prevent the plan from going forward.
By the end of the week, Philip may have cleared Titan’s name, but Salem’s larger mysteries will remain unresolved. Gwen is still missing, Kristen is being transported to an unknown location and EJ is surrounded by people who are finally beginning to uncover his secrets.
EJ may believe that he still has control, but Susan’s warning could prove prophetic. The more he follows Stefano’s path, the more likely he is to suffer the same kind of devastating downfall.
