The Young and the Restless Early Weekly Spoilers: Nikki Faces a Devastating Future as Cane Makes a Shocking Deal

The week of July 27–31 promises emotional heartbreak, dangerous alliances and several unexpected bargains on The Young and the Restless. Nikki Newman struggles to accept the possibility that she may never see again, while Traci Abbott takes an enormous personal risk to protect her family. Elsewhere, Phyllis Summers refuses to abandon Matt, and Cane Ashby prepares to strike a deal that could change several lives in Genoa City.

Nikki’s medical appointment delivers the news she feared most. After Victor Newman tells Nick and Victoria that Nikki is terrified of becoming permanently blind, the family accompanies her to the doctor’s office. Claire is also deeply concerned and remains close by as Nikki prepares to have her bandages removed.

The doctor warns that Nikki may not regain her sight immediately, although there is still a possibility that her vision could return gradually. Nikki chooses Victor to remain beside her during the examination. With his hand resting reassuringly on her shoulder, she opens her eyes—but sees only darkness.

“I can’t see anything,” Nikki says, leaving Victor and the entire family devastated.

Although everyone tries to remain optimistic after returning home, Nikki admits that she may have to face life without her sight. She thanks Victor, Nick, Victoria and Claire for supporting her, but insists on walking upstairs alone. Once she reaches the privacy of her bedroom, her controlled exterior finally collapses. Overcome with anger and grief, Nikki smashes her mirror and begins to cry.

Her family will become increasingly worried as she withdraws emotionally during the following week. Adam Newman could become an important source of support because he has previously experienced blindness himself. His understanding may help Nikki feel less isolated—provided the writers allow him to become involved in her recovery.

Meanwhile, Traci Abbott puts herself in danger while searching for Dr. Markham.

With Kyle, Jack and Diane secretly listening nearby, Traci contacts Martin Laurent through a video call. Martin confirms that he knew Markham through his twin brother, Alan, and explains that he also interacted with the doctor while impersonating Alan. When Traci reveals that Markham helped a disturbed woman terrorize the Abbott family and abduct Diane, Martin describes him as a dangerous sociopath.

Martin may possess the information they need, including the location of a summer house once visited by Markham and Alan. However, he refuses to provide specific details unless Traci visits him personally at the prison.

Martin claims he still loves her and insists that some information can only be shared face-to-face. Despite Diane’s objections, Traci agrees to arrange the meeting. Diane hopes Jack and Kyle can locate the summer house before Traci is forced to confront Martin, but Traci is determined to prove that she is no longer afraid of him.

Phyllis also continues down an increasingly dangerous path with Matt.

After waking and finding him asleep on the sofa in her hotel room, Phyllis questions why he did not join her in bed. Matt explains that he did not want to take advantage of her because he is considering leaving Genoa City. Phyllis insists that she feels safe with him and encourages him to ignore Nick’s warnings.

Matt claims that he wants a fresh start without further complications, but Phyllis believes staying in town could transform his life. She takes him to breakfast and even offers him a job, despite his disturbing criminal history.

Nick is furious that Phyllis refuses to recognize the danger. Matt’s continued presence—and his growing relationship with Phyllis—could push Nick toward a serious emotional crisis or even a relapse.

Elsewhere, Adam and Chelsea prepare a secretive power move designed to impress Victor. They may attempt to convince him that they are willing to ruthlessly target Sally and seize control of Newman Media. Victor, however, is unlikely to accept their story without suspicion.

Sally and Audra must also decide whether to accept Adam’s proposal. Once they provide their answer, Adam will move forward with his plan to deceive Victor, although fooling the Newman patriarch will not be easy.

Cane Ashby strikes a surprising bargain as well. The deal could involve Billy and Chancellor, or it may be connected to Holden. There is also hope that Cane’s arrangement will involve Lily and create a more romantic storyline.

Billy and Sally then discover that Jill has been hiding a major secret. Her health remains the most worrying possibility, especially after her previous medical struggles.

With Nikki emotionally shattered, Traci walking into a possible trap and Phyllis becoming more protective of Matt, the week of July 27 is set to bring major consequences across Genoa City.
