General Hospital Spoilers for July 20–24: Valentin’s Secret Weapon, Brennan’s Desperate Move and Anna’s Return

The week of July 20–24 promises major revelations, dangerous bargains and shifting alliances on General Hospital. Valentin Cassadine is sitting on a suitcase filled with secrets, and he may soon use its contents to blackmail his way toward something he desperately wants.

Meanwhile, Jack Brennan becomes increasingly determined to recover the information that could help Nina Reeves. Anna Devane returns to work, Elizabeth Webber confronts someone at the hospital, and the truth about the shooting involving Rocco Falconeri threatens to tear several families apart.

Here is what viewers can expect throughout the week.

Monday, July 20: Rocco’s Secret Comes to Light

Monday’s episode begins with Tracy Quartermaine agreeing to grant someone’s request. She is seen at the stables asking what the catch is, which suggests that Cody Bell may be involved. Cody has already been dealing with emotional fallout after being forced to tell James some painful news, so Tracy’s decision could give him an unexpected opportunity.

Elsewhere, Lulu Spencer approaches Sonny Corinthos and tells him that they need to discuss an important family matter. Ric Lansing is also present and wants to know what is happening.

Lulu then reveals something shocking: Jason Morgan was not the person who shot Colum. Rocco was responsible.

The confession could place Rocco in serious legal and emotional danger. Lulu will need help protecting her son while also encouraging him to face the consequences of what happened.

Molly Lansing-Davis asks Laura Collins for assistance, possibly in connection with the Sidwell investigation. Molly is prosecuting the case, and their conversation at the Port Charles Police Department may reveal that the situation is becoming more complicated.

Detective Joe Fitzpatrick also questions Ezra Boyle, asking whether he has anything to hide. The answer is clearly yes. Ezra has been keeping several secrets and may have been brought in for questioning because of his possible connection to Sidwell.

Nina Reeves, meanwhile, calls Brennan a “disgusting pig.” Their confrontation appears to take place after an intimate encounter, suggesting that something Brennan says or does immediately causes Nina to regret trusting him.

Valentin refuses to back down, whether he is dealing with Carly Spencer, Lulu or the growing conflict surrounding Charlotte Cassadine. He now possesses the mysterious black box, and its contents could give him enormous leverage.

Willow Corinthos also makes an unpleasant discovery. She asks Harrison Chase how he would feel about traveling to Washington, D.C., but such a trip would almost certainly create problems with Brook Lynn Quartermaine.

Carly is left shaken by an unexpected development, which may be connected to Valentin taking possession of Brennan’s black box.

Tuesday, July 21: Anna Returns as Police Commissioner

Britt Westbourne crosses paths with a doctor once again, and their already tense relationship continues. Britt may still be furious about her living situation at Bobbie’s Diner, but she also appears to be preparing for a possible return to General Hospital.

Their constant arguments are creating an unmistakable enemies-to-lovers energy. If Britt returns to work at the hospital, the two will have even more opportunities to challenge and annoy each other.

Lulu rejects Dante Falconeri’s suggestion. Dante may advise her to reconsider how she is handling the conflict between Valentin and Charlotte.

Dante understands that Charlotte remains deeply loyal to her father. If Lulu continues trying to keep them apart, Charlotte may resent her mother even more. Laura will eventually need to step in and help both sides reach an agreement.

Anna officially returns to work as police commissioner, and Dante is pleased to see her reclaim the position. However, Anna is still struggling psychologically, particularly with the influence Peter August appears to have over her thoughts.

Her return could restore order at the PCPD, but it may also place Anna under enormous pressure before she is emotionally ready.

Sonny receives encouraging news, possibly connected to Brick, Valentin or one of his ongoing legal problems. Carly, however, is furious about whatever Sonny is planning.

She also hides an important secret from Valentin. If Sonny is preparing to target Valentin, Carly may know more than she is willing to admit.

Wednesday, July 22: Brennan Warns Anna

Brennan delivers a warning to Anna. His concerns could involve Valentin, Carly or Sidwell, especially since Brennan has been connected to the WSB cover-up surrounding the shooting.

Someone gives Britt a much-needed dose of tough love. It could be Liesl Obrecht or Nina, both of whom care about Britt but may believe that she needs to take responsibility for her recent choices.

Considering that both women have the financial resources to help her, it remains surprising that Britt is still struggling to find a stable place to live. However, the situation may be designed to push her toward returning to General Hospital.

Portia Robinson surprises Curtis Ashford. With Marshall Ashford expected to return to Port Charles and Portia and Curtis welcoming a baby boy, the surprise may have something to do with the child’s name or an important family decision.

Valentin begins mapping out his next move. He is determined to open the black box because he assumes that it belonged to Colum. At this point, he may not realize that it was stolen from Brennan.

Once Valentin discovers how badly Brennan wants it, the box will become a powerful bargaining chip. Valentin could demand money, protection or help repairing his relationship with Charlotte.

Michael Corinthos is also caught off guard by an unexpected person or revelation.

Thursday, July 23: Laura Demands a Price from Valentin

Dante receives new information from Laura. The conversation may concern Sidwell, but it could also involve Valentin’s attempts to repair his damaged relationship with Lulu.

Valentin visits Laura’s office and asks her to mediate the dispute between him and Lulu over Charlotte. Laura agrees to help, but she does not offer her assistance for free.

She demands something from Valentin in return.

Laura may ultimately be the only person capable of persuading Lulu, Valentin and Charlotte to find common ground. She will also be involved in resolving the conflict between Lulu and Rocco, whose loyalty to Britt continues to frustrate his mother.

Anna makes Chase an offer that could allow him to reclaim his detective badge.

While Dante was serving as commissioner, ADA Turner appeared to exercise too much control over the police department. Anna is unlikely to tolerate that interference. Her return will bring a major shake-up to the PCPD, giving Chase an opportunity to restore his professional reputation.

Chase may use his renewed authority to prove that Willow was framed. He already believes that she is innocent, but pursuing the truth could place him at odds with Brook Lynn.

Alexis Davis compares notes with Michael. Drew Cain’s gradual recovery from locked-in syndrome is about to create new problems for Alexis, who currently has full-time responsibility for Scout.

Once Drew regains his mobility and ability to communicate, Alexis may be forced to fight him over Scout again. With Scout soon being aged into her teenage years, the custody conflict could become even more emotionally complicated.

Rocco has a heart-to-heart conversation with Sonny. Given Sonny’s violent past, he may be uniquely positioned to help Rocco understand the guilt and fear that follow a shooting.

Nina also develops an outrageous idea, possibly involving Drew. At this stage, Brennan still may not have recovered the black box, forcing Nina to consider a more dangerous alternative.

Friday, July 24: Elizabeth Confronts Willow

Lucas Jones apologizes to someone. Joe may be the most likely recipient, especially if the two are expected to share more scenes together. Carly is another possibility, although Lucas does not appear to owe Britt an apology.

Dante puts Chase to the test. Summer spoilers indicate that the two men will attempt to repair their friendship, but trouble at the Quartermaine mansion could threaten their progress.

The conflict may return to the plot against Willow and Brook Lynn’s role in hiding the truth.

Elizabeth directly challenges Willow, almost certainly about Drew. Willow has continued defending Drew despite mounting evidence that he has manipulated and hurt the people around him. Elizabeth may finally force her to confront facts she has been unwilling to accept.

Brennan gives someone bad news. He could tell Nina that the black box is no longer at Wyndemere and that Valentin now possesses it.

Brennan will eventually obtain the information he needs, but spoilers suggest that it will come from an unexpected source—and that he will have to pay a very high price. Valentin may be willing to return the box, but only in exchange for something extremely valuable.

Jason and Danny Morgan return to Port Charles on Friday. Britt may be hurt or angry that Jason left town without visiting her, adding another layer of tension to their complicated relationship.

Stella Henry and Elizabeth also hold a meeting at General Hospital. The person sitting across from them may not like what they have to say.

Britt could be asking for her job back, but the process will not be easy. Summer spoilers indicate that Britt will face difficult tests at the hospital and that Elizabeth will eventually turn the tables on her.

At the same time, Willow’s seemingly perfect world begins to collapse. Drew’s condition continues to improve, and as he slowly regains his mobility, he may become more dangerous than anyone realizes.

Between Valentin’s secret-filled black box, Brennan’s desperation, Anna’s return and the truth about Rocco’s involvement in the shooting, Port Charles is heading toward another explosive week.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Storylines and broadcast schedules may be subject to change.
